Converting Distance Measurements
to
Tlme Values
Each
of
the distances must be converted to time values.
1.
Measure the conveyor fine speed.
(l)
Metric: measure in meters per minute (m/min)
English: measure in feet per minute (ftlmin)
2. Use the appropriate formula to convert each measurement to a time value. (

Calculate all the transition values for your pattern by adding
up
the delays
and durations. Write them on your pattern drawing.
<'>
For this example, the line speed is 45.7 m/min (150ft/min).

> In the gun 1 bead in this example, the first delay
(T1)
includes the gun to
trigger distance
of
150 mm plus the 1
00
mm distance from the substrate
edge to the start
of
the first duration. This cumulative distance {250 mm) was
then converted using the Metric formula:

In the two lower bead sequences, the first delay (T1) includes the gun to trig-
ger distance
of
150 mm plus the 75 mm distance from the substrate edge to
the start
of
the first duration. This cumulative distance {225 mm) was then
converted using the Metric formula:
